There’s this wall of closure that I can see building up
A tsunami towering higher the closer it comes
Metric tons of blue, willful muscle
Tumbling on in mindless harmony
The Doppler Effect is coming full-tilt
Sirens blare
Overloading my senses with the imminence
The inevitability
I stand here on the beach that extends past the coastal town streets
What the reporters and blog guru's don’t tell you
And feel the rumble
And just as I smile
A stitch forms in my chest
I’m ready for it to crash down
But I guess I’m not so ready for everything that it will take
Culling the loose and the unfastened
And wiping clean
All that I can no longer hold Is that a new beginning doesn’t feel so sweet
When it’s you
Standing alone
In the aftermath
