I'm Just a Guy (Poem needs a ton of work)

I'm just a guy
Today I wore blue jeans and a tan hoodie
If you passed by fast enough
I'd look topless...
And if you passed by a bit slower, you'd see a coffee stain
And I just bought the damn thing
But who can blame me
I'm just a guy

I've been told my best feature is my "big brown eyes"
Mind you...
Brown eyes are far and away the most common on the planet,
Have nothing to do with my character,
And DEFINITELY doesn't mean I'm attractive
But if we're being honest
I blushed all the same
After all
I'm just a guy

To put food on the table (or microwave)
I must teach young ones
Show them what it is to be supported and feel safe between grammar lessons
And speaking exercises
Because it's hard out there
I can't be there to save them when the floors falls through
Wolves are a plenty
And they bite hardest when you're pure
But I can't stop life from being life
Or the inevitability that soon those shining faces will known what that even means
After all
You can't shield kids from life
And I'm just a guy
