A house concert from the day after New Years |
There are many things I planned on doing with this break: like reading through a few Harry Potter books, watching some films friends have suggested and even gaining weight for rugby, but with all this commotion of spontaneity I find no time to do such things. And frankly I'm okay with that. I find it interesting that I figured my break would be much less extravagant than it has been. But it would seem that I've come to realize that in being home, there are so many things I want to do and reunions that I cannot afford to miss that my true rest won't come until the moment I rest my head on a pillow back in Norman again. And I think I kind of like the sound of that.
So far I've...
-gone "mudding" (there were five of us, so we got stuck for a scary minute or two, but overall the experience was exhilarating)
-had a reunion dinner with my PALs Crew from senior year
-played ultimate with my younger friends
-attended an invitational rugby camp
-attended a few rugby practices with old teammates and coaches
-taken a trip down memory lane/ gotten neck deep in the feels/ OD'ed on nostalgia when my high school football team won state again ( some friends and I tailgated before and after the event as well to take the ordeal and make a day of it )
-gone to a send-off party for a friend
-made cookies and talked well into the morning with greatly missed "gal pals"
-enjoyed seeing Christmas lights for a friends 19th birthday
-gone hot tubbing
-played pick-up football with my old football teammates
-hit the gym a lot
-gotten some father son bonding time fixing up my car
-watched A Wonderful Life for the first time with friends
-had a few late night dinners
-caught up with a mentor / former teacher
and plenty more that I cannot seem to remember at the moment, but will ( I'm sure ) as soon as I submit this thing.
Man oh man is it good to be home.
