After practice today we had a mixer with Alpha Phi. They were some nice girls and some were very pretty, I met a solid number of them and had solid conversation, but as always I found myself skirting the outside of the event. The whole idea was to watch a movie outdoors with a projector, some lawn chairs, and a few blankets. You know, to provide a chill environment to meet and greet and maybe even go out to the same place once the thing was over. Drinks and candy were provided. And they paid for a guy to bring out equipment for the movie to play... But of course the social aspect was key, and many of my teammates dug into the whole gig. I on the other hand, though amused, found no such inclination and was more than happy enough just watching the movie. The film choice ended up being Dodgeball, and I hadn't seen that obnoxious thing in years. Some girls here and there came by to say hi and tell me I'm lame for not fraternizing, but I paid them no mind. Not because I'm cool, but because I just really wanted to watch the movie. I feel bad admitting that I forgot half of their names within seconds of them sharing it but who even really cares. I knew my intentions. And so did my team captain when he invited me. I think I and one of my fellow awkward teammates were the only ones to laugh at the movie at all, but that's okay. I had a good night.
