Poem Snippets from Yesterday

A walk is building in my body.
It pulls power and cells
Gathering force and breadth
Before reaching my chest
It all seems foreign
A notion from on-high
Maybe sometimes it is
But others
It's much simpler
A call from the wild
The dilapidated shoreline of a lake
A place you don't want to be
A foot tired of tapping
---

Moon clocked in behind a fully seated bar
And there they all stayed
Draped in hues of pink and blue
Swishing their drinks before swallowing
Through sallow sagging eyes
Hollow postures
And mellow sighs
Replacing the taste of a word with that of a bandaid

The kind that unravels as it mends
The lights couldn't be dim enough to not feel...

Misplaced
Judiciously harsh
Banal
