Experimental Poem

Sometimes I see strangers
Eyes lost in the mist
Hair unkempt and natural
Wearing white and fluttering through
Waves of plush greens and blues
And find myself falling for them

They seem so soft
Ethereal
Faultless
Alone
A hand too pure for mine
With lips that speak softly

My hands shake at the notion of reaching out to touch
I want to love them
Feel at home in the focal point of their love
But pull away right as their eyes level with mine
I seek a love I don't feel comfortable accepting
My back turns on it all more often than not
Only to return to the underbrush
Afraid but with hope

The hope that one day I'll be beautiful too
